Architecturals.net Not just another pretty face on the web, Architecturals.net is a website with a mission. Born from the Urban Development Corporation, a private company located in Philadelphia, their mission is clear, to wage a war on urban decay. Purchasing distressed buildings in low-income neighborhoods that were once vacant or dilapidated, restoring them strengthens communities by placing families and business back into professionally restored buildings. Socially conscious, the proceeds from the sale of architectural antiques is cycled back into Urban Development Corporation, to continue their efforts to fight urban decay.
For those of us who love the look of old iron gates, garden furniture, pillars, antique lighting and more, Architecturals.net is a designer and collectors paradise. Fun and easy to navigate, their site is a wealth of information for collectors. Each category and sub category gives an informative insight into the history and identification of the antiques in that category. As an example, if you click on the sub-category Folk Art, next to it the description reads: Also of interest to viewers are the "Tips & Techniques" section, with articles written and submitted by visitors. Articles are related to history, identification or preservation of antiques, giving viewers even more information into this ever popular and growing area of collecting. Architecturals.net Antique Market features reputable dealers from around the world, selling their items on a contingency basis. Their merchants agree to a 10-day "no questions asked" return policy, with the option of putting any of their items "On Sale". Need more information on an item? Each piece contains a link allowing you to present your question directly to the merchant. In visiting Architecturals.net not only did I find the informative history of architectural antiques fascinating, making this one of most "content rich" websites I have had the pleasure to visit, the site navigation was a breeze! With each item I clicked on, I re-decorated my house several times over and enjoyed every minute of my visit, as I am sure you will also.
