Goldzander ~ Pro Vadis Antiques

The heart of Europe between Germany and Italy is the small and lovely country of Austria. Founded in 1959, Goldzander Company is One of the largest antiques dealers in Austria with a sizable exhibition space to accommodate period pieces such as Cupboards, Chests of Drawers, Chairs, Sculptures, Ceiling Lighting, Jewelry and more!

An antique joinery and restorer, architectural pieces, old locks and hardware, marble, stone, ironworks and floor to ceiling accessories can be found for those looking for original period accents to decorate with.

The Patroness Saint Apollonia from the 1700's and the architectural column pictured here bring to mind stately gardens of flowers and rolling lawns that are normally only pictured in magazines. Antique garden decorations have become an enormous passion in the US, and difficult to find, with more than one graveyard having been pillaged for their statuary items. While shipping such large or heavy pieces would seem an impossible dream price-wise, we must remember that large items have been brought to our country since the beginning. Along with the beautiful furniture shown on the Goldzander website I was fascinated with the old locks and fittings. The beauty of workmanship in these accessories are not readily found in modern day hardware.
