TreasureUSA.com by J. J. Johnson Partners Deborah Carmichael and Damon Carr, with their combined areas of expertise, began their business at home. Albeit they were humble beginnings, but as in any success story - accomplishment has to have a beginning somewhere. Deborah, CEO has in her area of expertise the knowledge of Antiques that she has gleaned from ownership in her own Art Gallery. She has also worked as a designer for companies as well as individuals in forming collections of fine and decorative arts. Damon, CTO with basic expertise in computers, coupled with Deborah's extensive knowledge of fine collectibles has made for a great match in forming a solid platform for TreasureUSA. Both partners are avid Antique Collectors. In researching other outlets, they discovered sites that were primarily limited, i.e. E-Bay which catered more or less to low or medium priced items which in turn made it more difficult for sellers to get fair pricing for the more rare collectible. The results of their extensive research was actually the basis for forming a site which would focus mainly on the "finer" collectible. Rather than put her business savvy info the corporate genre, Deborah instead wanted to apply her extensive business background into more traditional practices thus creating a solid website. In visiting the website TreasureUSA.com, I was impressed with the ease of manueverability within the site proper. Unlike other sites (I personally have experienced this), a person tends to get lost trying to figure out where to go to get the desired information - actually, I have a tendency to just "give up"! |

The featured "chat Board" is an excellent arena for buyer/seller involvement in interested items. A much more accessible format in getting answers to any questions or gather pertinent info on items of interest. Also, you may have had a certain item for years but could never get any real valued information on that particular item, i.e. origin, value, etc. I find a chat board a much more accessible means of getting desired results than say, the "Antique Roadshow" with it's very limited "pick and choose" television appraisal format. TreasureUSA.com's main focus is attracting buyers with discriminating taste and vision with an appreciation for the better pieces and with that recognition are willing to pay accordingly. Keeping that in mind, along with Treasures association with high-end businesses results in offering the finer "treasures" A very important aspect of TreasureUSA is the online "Real People" to help you. In frustration I have e-mailed other sites I have had the misfortune to go into, with questions that I would have liked an answer to before my next birthday, only to have to wait for days for what was supposed to pass for an answer, or you click on to an already formatted question showing multiple choice answers that most fits your particular queries. Not acceptable!! Lastly, but certainly not least, with the relatively new approach to internet business and the commitment to build a more solid foundation, using tried and true business practices, without the necessity to spend millions on venture capital - unlike many other "here today - gone tomorrow" dotcom companies, I think it would be safe to predict TreasureUSA.com will be around for some time. So, jump into their site - take a tour - you'll feel at home navigating thru. Enjoy the "ride" at TreasureUSA.com. While you're there click on to the Decorative Arts logo. I positively drooled! Absolutely gorgeous pieces and obviously a visual confirmation of what they (Treasures) are all about which displays inventory of the finest TreasureUSA.com has to offer, thusly, not having to be afraid that they would not have the ability to attract buyers with discriminating taste in the "finer collectibles" and are willing to show their appreciation by purchasing "quality". |
